Dr. Steele grew up in a small town outside of Atlanta, GA. He grew up around healthcare with his father being a family physician for over 30 years where he established a practice that grew to multiple offices.
Leslie grew up in Kingsport, TN, received a B.S in Accounting and a Master’s in Business Administration from Tennessee Tech University. She previously worked as a Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina with an audit and tax emphasis for ten years before joining The Hearing Guy in 2017.
Joan grew up in the Lynchburg, VA area. She spent the majority of her life in McDonough, GA where she was a licensed pharmacist for over 30 years.
Bryce grew up in Louisville, KY. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. Bryce was first introduced to hearing difficulties through his mother, who was a deaf education teacher for many years. Prior to moving to the Asheville area he worked at the Heuser Hearing Institute in Louisville, KY as an Audiometric Assistant where he received extensive training in treating hearing loss. Bryce is currently a NC apprentice in the Hearing Instrument Specialist Program.
Hugo is fluent in Spanish and previously worked as a medical interpreter for Spanish-speaking patients — he’s available to help Spanish-speaking patients and families through every step of their visit. Hugo is a local, growing up in the Asheville area. He graduated from A.C. Reynolds High School in 2022. He and his fiancée Abbie, a registered nurse, enjoy coaching little league baseball within the community. Hugo brings professionalism and a genuine desire to make every patient feel comfortable and heard.
Athena is from Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). She graduated with a B.A. in Biology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Her favorite thing about living in Asheville is being outdoors and hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway. She is often the first friendly face you’ll see when you visit. As our Patient Care Coordinator, she is dedicated to making every patient’s experience smooth, welcoming and stress-free from the moment they walk through our door. Athena takes pride in creating a positive experience for every patient and believes that kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care make all the difference.
