Hearing Aids in Asheville & Hendersonville

The right hearing aid starts with your hearing needs and the life you want to hear more clearly. The Hearing Guy is an independent hearing care practice serving Asheville and Hendersonville. We work with multiple manufacturers, so your options are not limited to one brand. Explore hearing aids, accessories, and care that support everyday conversation, phone calls, and the activities that matter to you.

Hearing Technology

Choose Technology Around Your Daily Life

Start with the situations you want to improve: conversation at a restaurant, time with family, phone calls, or television. Hearing aid selection should consider your hearing evaluation, listening priorities, comfort, ease of handling, and budget, rather than a feature list alone. Our hearing aid technology guide explains the options.

Cell Phone Accessories for Hearing Aids

Will hearing aids work with your phone? It depends on the exact hearing aid and phone models, operating system, firmware, and any required accessory. A Bluetooth label alone does not guarantee direct streaming, hands-free calls, or every app feature. Check the manufacturer’s current compatibility guidance before choosing a device or changing phones.

Backup batteries should always be purchased before the current ones go bad. There are four main types of hearing aid batteries that are easy to identify by color. Blue (675), orange (13), brown (312) and yellow (10).

Features such as directional microphones, noise management, rechargeable power, and wireless accessories serve different listening and practical needs. Not every feature is available in every model or style.

What about Auracast? Auracast broadcast audio lets compatible receivers access audio from an available broadcast, such as a participating venue’s sound system. It is not a feature of every Bluetooth hearing aid. Hearing aid support, compatible equipment, required software or firmware, and an active broadcast must be checked. Our Auracast guide explains what to ask before relying on it.

A Patient's Guide to Hearing Aids

Curious About Hearing Technology, but Not Sure Where to Start?

Which hearing aid is right for me? There is no single best hearing aid for everyone. Begin with a hearing aid evaluation and a conversation about where you have difficulty hearing. Bring the model of your phone and a short list of listening priorities. Discuss comfort, fit, ease of handling, and budget alongside the situations you want to hear more clearly.

What happens after choosing a device? Explore hearing aid fitting and programming to understand the next stage of care. Ask how fitting, programming, and follow-up care will support your day-to-day use. If you already wear hearing aids and something has changed, our hearing aid repair page is another useful starting point.
